A lot of youth workers, pastors and deaconesses frequently complain that they can’t find a lot of Bible Study materials for youth and young adults, especially those that come from the Wesleyan and Methodist tradition. That seems like a good excuse for not holding Sunday School or Bible Study for young people.
Well, kiss that good excuse goodbye!
The Voices of Young People website will feature a weekly Bible Study and Devotional for youth and young adults beginning January 2010. These Bible Study guides are also based on the Lectionary. So your young people will also be attuned to the scripture readings for every Sunday of the year.
Here’s the basic structure of the Bible Study material:
Listen Up Y’all! This section specifies the Biblical passage upon which the Bible Study is based. You can read it out loud. Ask the young people to read the verses alternately. You can be creative so as to make the young people appreciate the Bible passage.
Opening Salvo. This is the introduction part, where you use a video, music or even a game that could prepare the young people for the main lessons of the Bible study.
What was that All About! Following the introduction, this section discusses some of the historical background and delves into the topic more deeply.
Mirror, mirror on the Wall Interaction and conversations are the key to effective Bible Studies involving young people. Keep in mind that young people want to express themselves. If you keep “lecturing” to them, they will easily be bored and might no longer attend your next sessions.
Roll out! A Bible Study session would be successful if the participating young people will apply the lessons they learned into their daily lives and experiences.
Each Bible Study guide will last for about 30 minutes. Pray for each member of your Bible Study group. Encourage them. Always keep in mind that they need God’s guidance in all areas of their lives.
If you want to submit your Bible Study guides and share it with other workers with youth, please do contact me. Send at email to penstalker@gmail.com.

This would be a great help. Thanks and God bless.
