The Center for Worship Resourcing at GBOD is looking for new, previously unpublished, original worship resources – prayers, litanies, blessings, calls to worship, etc. – for a new collection from The United Methodist Publishing House that will be available in print and in an expanded online edition, and we welcome your submissions.
This new resource will NOT include ritual resources– such as Great Thanksgivings, baptismal services, marriage services, funerals, or full services of the daily office. We’re always glad to receive those as well for consideration for posting on the GBOD website– send those to worship@gbod.org. But for this new print resource, the idea is to provide a collection of smaller pieces.
And we need them fast. We’re working against a “soft” deadline of September 3! The hard deadline for consideration for inclusion in the print volume is September 18.
Please include with your submission whatever is relevant of the following information for each item submitted:
- Title (opening few words)
- Author
- Submitter Name
- Submitter Email
- Submitter Mailing Address
- Submitter Telephone
- Season/Day/Occasion of Use (Advent, Lent, All Saints, etc.)
- Liturgical Use (invocation, prayer response, benediction, etc.)
- Scriptural Reference (to what scriptures does the resource relate or quote?)
- Topical Reference (related topics: grace, healing, thanksgiving, etc.)
Additionally, if you have protected any of these items under copyright or Creative Commons licensing, include the terms of those licenses so we may document and handle them appropriately.
