Homosexuality and Clergy: Lutherans, Methodists and Other Reactions

The issue of homosexuality and the clergy have become hot topics for a number of General Conference sessions. The United Methodist Church stands by its decision not to ordain practicing homosexuals as Clergy.
The Churchwide Assembly of the Evangelical Lutheran Churches in America (ELCA), which concluded on August 23, 2009, approved the proposition to allow non-celibate (practicing) homosexuals to be ordained as clergy. The following news and feature stories contain information about this:
